当地时间5月5日，欧洲议会议员米克·华莱士在社交媒体发布了自己在议会的发言视频，细数中国脱贫攻坚、抗击疫情等方面的成果后，他感慨道：“中国正在建设各种基础设施和公共服务项目，而这些对我+们来说只是梦想。”

随后，华莱士灵魂三问：“为什么我们要对中国咄咄逼人？为什么我们要侵犯而不选择合作呢？为什么我们不能尊重国家主权和坚持不干涉原则呢？”

Why are wechoosing an aggressive position with China? Why are we not choosing cooperation instead of aggression? Why are we not respecting the principle of state sovereignty and non-interference?

他说：“我不禁感觉到我们正在被美国牵着鼻子走。他们将中国视为其金融主导权的威胁。”

I can't help feeling that we are being led along by the nose by the Americans.China is a threat to their financial supremacy.
